The last 24 hours have been... stressful to say the least. Because of the Smithville fire, we were evacuated from our house at about 5.00. My family stayed with my grandmother in town. We spent the evening switching from one news station to another. They all said the same thing. The number of acres burned kept rising. The number of houses and businesses destroyed kept rising. We didn't even know if we would have a home to go home to this morning. Everything turned out okay and the fire didn't make it as far as our house (as of 9.00 this morning), but the fire is still being fought and there are still many people out of their homes.
They've started boarding, so I must go... I'll try to continue this when I arrive in Puerto Vallarta.
